The mission driven commitment to community benefit for the Sacramento Service Area includes both hospital sponsored programs and activities that are conducted by hundreds of employees, as well as regional based partnership efforts and initiatives. This site highlights only a few of them.
Community benefit provided by the hospitals takes many other shapes. Mercy primary care clinics and other core programs and activities respond to needs identified through community health assessments and by hospital leadership. They focus on the prevention and management of chronic illnesses and health conditions prevalent in the region like heart disease, cancer, stroke, and diabetes, and on building collaborative partnerships to enhance community health assets and build capacity.
These core programs reflect a handful of the many services and activities the Sacramento Service Area hospitals and their employees provide to make a difference in the health and the lives of those living in the communities they serve.
