An electroencephalogram, or EEG, is one of the key tests used to diagnose neurological issues, especially epilepsy. Using electrode sensors, doctors will monitor your brain's electrical activity to determine brain wave patterns and any subsequent problems.
Certain conditions, like epilepsy, can be easily detected by observing changes in the normal pattern of the brain's electrical activity. In most patients, an EEG can give sufficient information to determine the type of seizure happening. This helps doctors to better form a treatment plan for the patient.
